ČEZ Nymburk is gearing up for the All-Star Game of the Mattoni NBL, taking place this Sunday at the modern arena in Pardubice. This event breaks attendance records, with over six thousand spectators attending two years ago. This year, a similar interest is expected, particularly due to the slam dunk contest, which traditionally attracts the most fan attention. Organizers considered the possibility of placing a car under the hoop, but the technical parameters of the hall did not allow it. Thus, once again, fans will not see dunks over a car or dunks with two balls on two hoops, as is common in the NBA.

Defending champion Tomáš Pomikálek from Děčín is preparing carefully for the dunk contest. "I am preparing options in my head where I can manage with just the ball," says Pomikálek. His competitor will also be Ladislav Horák from Svitavy, who was injured during the contest last year. Horák plans to showcase more exciting dunks but emphasizes that staying healthy is the main priority.

The entire event has been moved to Sunday, which should contribute to better game quality and a full audience. Last year, the All-Star Game took place in April, which was not ideal due to the approaching playoffs. "We hope that the Sunday date will attract more spectators who won't have to worry about home competitions," adds event manager René Peška. Tickets are still on sale, and fans can take advantage of significant discounts on slevomat.cz.

For the first time this year, women will join the men, participating in the three-point shooting and skills contests. ČEZ Nymburk thus becomes part of this exciting event, promising an unforgettable experience for all basketball lovers.
